Hosting Your Event at OMG Resto Is That Easy!

4 March, 2026

Birthday party, retirement, recognition gala, fundraising evening for a foundation... We welcome you to OMG Resto for all kinds of events! Sue Goyette, our Sales and Events Consultant at OMG, answers the questions she is most often asked about bookings.

How long have you been the Sales and Events Consultant at OMG Resto?

It’s been almost 5 years already! I handle group bookings and coordinate events, which is great for clients because they only deal with one person from start to finish.

Before joining this amazing team, I spent many years working in the artistic world. I’m originally a choreographer and dance teacher! Until recently, I owned my own studio and had been for 15 years.

I find that organizing beautiful events isn’t that far from my former artistic life. Themed evenings with a DJ or guest performers? That’s right up my alley!

How many people are needed to be considered a group?

We welcome groups of all sizes. Many guests choose OMG to celebrate a birthday or another special occasion, for example. As for me, I manage all reservations for groups ranging from 20 to 400 people.

How do you decide which space will be assigned to a group?

I’m the one who suggests the ideal location since I know the restaurant’s different sections, inside and out.

For example, for a retirement party of 50 to 60 guests, I would recommend the mezzanine. It’s beautiful and gives the feeling of a private room! For an event that includes a speech in a networking-style format, the stage and downstage areas would be perfect. For groups of 200 or more, we privatize the entire restaurant. Knowing the number of guests is the first important step when I begin planning an event. fun car c’est super beau, et ça donne l’effet d’une salle privée! Un événement avec une allocution en formule réseautage, alors ce sera plutôt l’espace scène et avant-scène. À partir de 200 personnes, on privatise l’entièreté du resto. Connaître le nombre de personnes est la première étape importante quand je commence à organiser un événement.

What about the menu selection?

Groups get to enjoy OMG Resto’s decadent menu through various formats: a seated dinner with a table d'hôte or à la carte menu, a cocktail-style reception with bites passed by our team, or food stations (which are especially popular during the holiday season!)

There’s room for creativity! We can offer, for example, a tartare station, a poutine station, a mac & cheese station... mac & cheese

And the drink options?

We offer a drink coupon system at a fixed price. It allows guests to enjoy beer, a glass of wine, or one of our stunning cocktails and mocktails. It’s a very popular option! mocktails. C’est super populaire comme option!

Let’s say it’s for a celebration and we’d like to bring a cake. Is that allowed?

We don’t make large birthday cakes in-house, but we always offer a sweet treat for the guest of honour. Otherwise, yes, you can bring a cake from an outside vendor—providing a small cutting fee, since we need to store it, slice it, and serve it.

Can we decorate the space if needed?

Absolutely! While OMG is a former church and already spectacular as it is, you’re welcome to bring decorations for a themed evening, for example. Some of our large groups that return every year for their Christmas party always choose fantastic themes, and go all out with their decor! party de Noël choisissent toujours des belles thématiques, et se donnent dans la déco!

Do you have any favourite memories from past events?

So many! I remember a huge holiday party for 400 guests with a glow-in-the-dark theme. The decor was incredible—we even had a fluorescent dance floor and a DJ! Glow in the dark! La décoration était fantastique, on avait même un plancher de danse fluo et un DJ!

Themed events are always so much fun to coordinate. I’ve organized notably a masquerade ball, a country-themed night, a Mardi Gras event...

We’ve also hosted evenings with live bands or guest comedians. It’s incredibly diverse!

When should we ideally book our event date?

For a smaller group, I would say about one month in advance. For a large event, it can be up to a year ahead! For example, Fridays and Saturdays in December are extremely popular.

How can we get in touch with you?

There are several ways to book for a group. You can call me directly at the restaurant (extension 2!), or visit our website under the Groups section, where you’ll find plenty of information regarding events. I’ll get back to you the same day or the next at the latest!
